Welcome to my website. I have no degrees in archeology or history to bamboozle you with. My only qualification is a lifelong quest to study military history. My quest began in the early 1960s. I can still remember the excitement of watching great western movies, such as "They Died With Their Boots On," "Fort Apache," etc. In my six year old mind, John Wayne, leading a company of cavalry troopers was the most glorious sight in the world.
During the formative years, I did not excel in my formal education but rather I read book after book on military history. I began to see in early adulthood that history was the only subject that I would never lose I interest in. After a trip to the Custer battlefield in Montana during the Spring of 1999, I decided to become proactive in my studies of Indian War history. I purchased a metal detector and located, through copious research, an obscure Indian War battlefield. That battlefield was the Milk Creek Battle of September 29, 1879.
This website is the fruition of many hours of study and many days of onsite research at the battlesite. Thank you for your interest. Please feel free to contact me with your comments or questions.
Sincerely,
Brad L. Edwards |
